Overview

Langtang region is one of the nearest trekking destinations from Kathmandu, it is only 132 kilometers north of Kathmandu and all accessible without flights.  Langtang region offers splendid varieties of natural and cultural diversity with spectacular Himalayan views, likewise close access to the unique Tamang villages. The Tamangs are the main inhabitants of this region, whose religious practices, language and dress are much more similar to the Tibetans. Plants such as rhododendrons, larch, wild flowers, gentians, primroses, epiphytic orchids are found abundantly in the area. Similarly, many birds and animals species as very rare animals Red Panda also found in the park. Moving on to the Hindu pilgrimage site Gosainkunda, watching the sunrise over the shimmering lakes. The region is home of 108 lakes and sacred Saraswati Kunda, Bhairab Kunda, Surya Kunda and Gosainkunda are the best known. It is believed that Lord Shiva created the holy lakes with his trident. In clear weather, from the top of Laurebinayak Pass (4600 m), we can observe spectacular views of Tibet and other side towards the Helambu valley. Helambhu is only about 75km. north of Kathmandu, is an ideal place to see the magnificent Himalayas and enchanting landscapes. This area is inhabited by Yhalmu people who are much more similar to the Sherpa people of Khumbu region. They are rich in their custom and culture.

Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Nepal and Namaste!


On arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, a representative from our office will greet you at the airport and escort you to your hotel and help you check in. You will then be briefed about your daily activities. In the evening, we have welcome dinner and we'll talk a little about Nepal and our program. (-/-/-)

Day 2: Sightseeing in Kathmandu Durbar square and Swayembhunath:


Today is great Sightseeing through UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu City: also known as Kantipur, the capital Kathmandu is the hub of Nepal's art and culture. It is a place for rest, relaxation and easy-day sightseeing of historic and artistic temples and monuments. Kathmandu Durbar Square with its arrays of temples and the ancient palaces of the former Nepali Royals enriches your experience of the centuries old civilisation. Then afternoon we drive to holy place of Buddhist, Swayambhunath said to be around 2000 years old, this Buddhist Stupa sits atop a hill. The main stupa is composed of a solid hemisphere of brick and earth supporting a lofty conical spire crowned by a pinnacle of Copper gilt. Painted on the four sided base of the spire are the all-seeing eyes of Lord Buddha. The hill of Swayambhu is a mosaic of small Chaityas and Pagoda temples. You’ll get a scenic view of Kathmandu city from there.(B/L/D)

Day 3: Drive to Syabru Bensi (1450m) by bus or jeep. 7-8 hrs


We begin our journey by private bus to Syabrubesi. The road leads along the bank of Trisuli River, through Trisuli Bazaar, Dhunche to Syabrubesi some 145 km. After Trisuli Bazaar the road leads naturally to gravel dusty road up to Dhunche, here we are entering a national park and that we have to do entry formalities for the Langtang National Park. This route offers us panoramic view of the Himalaya, including the Annapurnas, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal and the Langtang Himal. Overnight in Syabrubesi, at a lodge. (B/L/D)

Day 4: Trek to Lama Hotel (2640m.) 6-7 hrs


The trail initially crosses the Bhote Kosi, flowing down from Tibet, and then gradually climbs up through the the forests, join the trail from Syabru. We then follow the Langtang river, climbing through uninhabited forests of oak and rhododendron and may catch sometime a glimpse of langur monkeys roaming through the trees continue to Lama Hotel. Day 5: rek to Latang village (3340m. 6-7 hrs)


day: Hike to Langtang, today leads the way continues upward through dense forest to the place Ghoratabela, where we will stop for lunch. It is a beautiful place with wonderful views of Langtang Lirung and everywhere bloom rhododendrons during the spring season and we follow the trail continue along the Mani walls to the Langtang village 3430m. Day 6: Trek to Kyanjing Gompa (3860m. 5-6 hrs)


The trail leads gradually through small villages and yak pastures as the valley opens out further and the views become more extensive. After crossing several small streams and moraines, the trail reaches the settlement at Kyangjin. The surroundings are interesting also because of the famous Cheese factory. This beautiful valley is in the lap of the Langtang Lirung and other more mountains. Overnight at Lodge (B/L/D)

Day 7: Trek to Tsergo Ri (5050m. 7-8 hrs) and back to Kyanjing Gompa.


Early in the morning we start to hike to Mount Tsergo Ri, A steep climb leads us to Summit of Tsergo Ri 5050m. Its offer magnificent views far into the Tibetan plateau and the surrounding snow-capped peaks, Gangchenpo, 6387 m, Langtang Ri, 7232 meters, and Langtang Lirung, 7234 m, and on the huge glacier in the Langtang Himal and many other mountains. Day 8: Back descend to Lama Hotel (2640m. 6-7 hrs)


Today we descend via Langtang village and Ghoda Tabela to Lama Hotel. All the way downhill but we will see fantastic views of mountain what we have missed on the way up. (B/L/D)

Day 9: Trek to Thulo Syabru (2540m 5-6 hrs)


We descent along the Langtang River, through Bamboo Lodge and then we follow the path uphill through a beautiful forest which brings in to the view Syabru and its extensive area of millet terraces. A surging path brings you to this fascinating village. Overnight at Lodge (B/L/D)

Day 10: Trek to Sing Gompa (3920m. 5 hrs)


he trail leads steeply uphill through rhododendron, fir, oak forest to further Foprang Danda. This track is very famous for Orchids, many species of birds and home for Red Panda but you can see very rarely. After break in Foprangdanda it goes on slightly uphill through the forest to our day destination Shin Gompa. Afternoon we will visit a small cheese factory, which is established by swiss project and we can test here fresh yak cheese. Overnight at lodge. (B / L / D)

Day 11: Trek to Sing Gompa (3920m. 5-6 hrs)


We trek to holy Lake Gosainkunda, is another highlight of our trip. The path leads today through gorse, pine and rhododendron forest to the tree line Cholangpati and leads the way continues up along Laurebinayak ridge, with the view of Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal left and right many small lakes in the valley, further we reach the holy Lake Gosaikunda 4380m, a sacred place of Hindus, where many Hindu pilgrims visit in August full moon day of the place. According to legend, this lake was created by Shiva when he pierced a glacier with his trident to obtain water, quenching his thirst after taking some poison. Overnight at simple lodge. (B / L / D)

Day 12: Trek over Lauribina pass (4600m.) to Ghopte (3640m. 6-7 hrs)


mall lakes to the Laurebinaya pass 4600m the highest point of this trek. Keep looking back for wonderful views of Manaslu and the mountains of the Ganesh Himal, as well as the now familiar Langtang Lirung. We then descend steeply down to another valley to Helambu. Overnight at simple Lodge (B/L/D)

Day 13: Trek to Kutumsang (2540m. 6-7 hrs)


The trail leads continues through the forest of pine, juniper, bamboo and Rhododendron to Thadepati. Except ascending to Thadepati, the rest of the trail will descend. Sufficient hotels, lodges and temporary tea-house are available on the route, attractive mountain views as well as beautiful landscape.

Day 14: Trek to Chisapani (2230m. 6-7 hrs)


Today also as always uphill and downhill through many Tamang settlements (Gul Bhnjyang, Chipling, Thana Bhanjyang, Pati Bhanjyang) terraced fields of the Mountain farmers with the view of mountain and valley leads our trail continue to Chisapani 2230m , entrance point of Shivapuri National Park. Overnight at lodge.

Day 15: Trek to Sundarijal and drive to Kathmandu (1400m. 4 hrs)


Today is our last day of trekking. We start our walk through Shivapuri National Park, 1460m descent to Sundarijal in Kathmandu. From here we travel by private bus something an hour to hotel and afternoon we have an opportunity to relax. (B/-/-)

Day 16: Sightseeing in Kathmandu (Pashupatinath, Patan and Baudhanath)


First of all we visit the Hindu temple Pashupatinath, which is one of the oldest Hindu Temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is for the Hindus what Mecca is for the Muslims. Situated on the bank of the sacred Bagmati River, the temple was built in Pagoda Style with gilded roof and richly carved silver doors. Pashupatinath is the centre of annual pilgrimage on the day of Shivaratri which falls in the month of February or March. We will also be able to see cremation grounds that lie on the bank of Bagmati behind the temple. Then we drive to the holiest place of Buddhist, Boudhanath Stupa, one of the oldest and the biggest Buddhist monuments ever built in Nepal; Boudhanath is one of the holiest structures imposing a height of 37 meters with three massive level Mandala style platforms. It is surrounded by colorful buildings housing families creating a friendly enclosure. The Stupa is visited every year by tens of thousands of pilgrims from all over the world. Then afternoon we visit Patan City, Located about 5 km south of Kathmandu, Patan is one of 3 royal cities in the valley. A destination for connoisseurs of fine arts, Patan is filled with wood and stone carvings, metal statues, ornate architecture, including dozens of Buddhist and Hindu temples, and over 1200 monuments.
