This central region boasts the world’s deepest gorge and the most glorious sunsets in Nepal. There are five climatic and vegetational zones here, from sunny sub-tropical valleys, boreal forests, high windy deserts and the snow fields beyond. A variety of ethnic groups have found their niche in this diverse terrain. This area offers several treks from the mountain village of Gurung, to viewing the exquisite vistas at Gorepani. Trekking through forests and terraces below 1800m to see the magnificent setting of Ganapokhara and Lamjung, we make a holy pilgrimage to Muktinath, the holy city of both Buddhist and Hindu faiths. Muktinath is at the head of the Kali Gandaki gorge, amidst the peaks of the Annapurna range crossing the Throng La(pass) at about 5400m.
